" DADA" -- O nthe offside first comes GOD and then its Sourav Ganguly

This Picture is how the world shall always remeber "DADA".. Situation Natwest series Final IND vs ENGLAND at LORDS the MECCA of cricket where not a spectator is dressed in casual ware.. Well thats DADA or Saurav Gaguly....

I have been surfign the net for a while now t ofind things people have said about him.. But unfortuantely there are not many and this is kind of surprising.. YES i agree that his records are not as glamoruos or as overwhelming as the LITTLE MASTERS but nontheless he is the one who has lead a revolution in INDIAN Cricket...

"DADA" , "THE PRINCE OF KOLKATTA" , "THE BENGAL TIGER" are synonyms to Sourav.. they are not jsut tag lines they define who he was..

Unlike the Sachin and Rahul he was the mone that was surrounded in the cintravacy hurricane.. but it was his shere ditermination & gut that makes him so Special...

It is a little funny now looking down at a test match batting card and not seeing his name there.. I still a test match in england he was battign with Sachin the lights were fading.. light had been offered to the batsmen and neither Sachin nor he took that offer.. and england saw a brutal attack in bad conditions... There is nothing better to watch in cricket than:

A. Sachin Tendulkar's Straight Drive
B. Sourav Ganguly's ability to run down the pitch to a fast bowler of Allan Donald's class and smak the bloke over the offside field for a six
C. Sachin tendulkars straight bat Paddle sweep behind the keeper
D. Sorav's Elegant Cover drives
E. Rahul Dravid's Front foot defense...

Yes I knwo there are people who say that if India had the 3 best batsman in the world why we lost so frequently.. Well Honestly I do not have a definite answer my balme is as good as yours.

However this article is for one of the greatest captians that have lead india. He took over the reigns when india wer down in the dumps of cricket and rose to the occasion yes he fell down many times but then its how he rose to success that defines his character.. He is not afraid to speak his heart.. follow his soul.. he was there to play cricket and do well thats what he did.

He currently shares the best opening stand award wit hSachin tendulkar.. One of the greates opening batsmen the WORLD have ever seen... He is also the best reader of spin bowling off the bowlers hand... he is an Inspiration to all... It was his team and their dedication that were the first asian team the kill the AUSTRALIANS in their own backyard an ego blow that Punter and his men still whole the grudge too..

Writing History:

Test
1. Captained India in a record 49 Test matches[64]
2. Led India to a record 21 Test wins[65]
3. His Test average has never been less than 40.[66]

2. Holds the record, shared with Sachin Tendulkar, for most 1st wicket ODI partnerships of 175+ runs (7 times).
3. Holds the record, shared with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, for the second highest score by an Indian cricketer in an ODI — 183, against Sri Lanka in 1999.
4. Held the record, shared with Sachin Tendulkar, for the highest first wicket partnership for India in an ODI match, 258, against Kenya in 2001. This record was bettered by Sri Lankan opening pair of Jayasuriya and Tharanga in 2006 at Headingley.
5. Was involved in the first 300 run ODI partnership with Rahul Dravid.
6. Sixth on the all time list with 31 man of the match awards.
7. He is also the only player to win 4 consecutive man of the match awards in ODIs.
8. India's second most successful ODI captain after Mohammed Azharuddin.
9. First Indian to score an ODI century against Australia in Australia.
10. Highest ODI runs scorer in the world (in a calendar year) in 1997,1999,2000.
11. Third in the list of hitting maximum number of sixes in ODIs.
Second in the list of highest number of centuries in a single calendar year ever. 7 centuries in 2000.

and as they say the rest is history...

As fathers and grandfathers to thegenerations to come we will be giving his example for a long long time.. THose wh ohave had the previalge to see him play have been given memories that they can never forget..

"When Tendulkar goes out to bat, it is beyond chaos - it's a frantic appeal by a nation to one man" -- Mathew Hayden

Today i am not in the mood to work and i ma seriously missing my sat morning cricket marathon.. Anyway.. Jsut oding a bit of light reading on Sachin Tendulkar who to my mind if one of the greatest batsmen that have palyed the game and... well jsut go ahead and read for yourself on what people have said about him...

"I saw him playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I feel that this player is playing much the same as I used to play, and she looked at him on Television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two... his compactness, technique, stroke production... it all seemed to gel": Sir Donald Bradman.

"I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. I don't think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar. He is just an amazing player"
- Shane Warne.

"Sachin is cricket's God"
- Barry Richards

"Don't bowl him bad balls, he hits the good ones for fours."
- Michael Kasprowicz

You have to decide for yourself whether you're bowling well or not. He's going to hit you for fours and sixes anyway. Kasprowicz has a superior story. During the Bangalore Test, frustrated, he went to Dennis Lillee and asked, "Mate, do you see any weaknesses?" Lillee replied, "No Michael, as long as you walk off with your pride that's all you can do"
- Shane Warne

"You take Don Bradman away and he is next up I reckon."
- Steve Waugh

"I'd like to see him go out and bat one day with a stump. I tell you, he'd do okay"
- Greg Chappell

"If I've to bowl to Sachin, I'll bowl with my helmet on. He hits the ball so hard"
- Dennis Lillee

"I have seen God. He bats at number 4 for India"
- Mathew Hayden

"He's 99.5 percent perfect"
- Viv Richards

"Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime, and I am privileged he played in my time"
- Wasim Akram

"Sachin Tendulkar is a genius. I'm a mere mortal"
- Brian Lara

"He's a phenomenon. We have to be switched on when he plays allow him no boundries, for then he doesn't stop"
- Mark Taylor

"Sometime back I had written a piece that said that Sachin's the master and Lara a genius with his head high up somewhere. That's it"
- Peter Roebuck

"When Tendulkar goes out to bat, it is beyond chaos - it's a frantic appeal by a nation to one man"
- Mathew Hayden

"You have to watch India in India truly to appreciate the pressure that Sachin Tendulkar is under every time he bats. Outside grounds, people wait until he goes in before paying to enter. They seem to want a wicket to fall even though it is their own side that will suffer"-- Shane Warne

He has defined cricket in his fabulous, impeccable manner. He is to batting what Shane Warne is to bowling: Richie Benaud.

I still think Tendulkar is the best batsmen in the world ahead of Steve Waugh and Lara: Glenn McGrath.

Hell, if he had stayed, even at 11 an over he would have got it: Allan Border (after India won the Coca-Cola cup in Sharjah).

Tendulkar is the most complete batsman I have stood behind. I saw the hundred in Perth on a bouncy pitch with Hughes, McDermott and Whitney gunning for him — he only had 60-odd when No 11 came in. I've seen him against Warne too: Ian Healy

And jsut for the record:

156 test matches -- 12429 runs -- @ avg of 54.27 -- 41 centuries -- 51 half centuries
419 ODI matches -- 16422 runs -- @ avg of 44.26 -- 42 centuries -- 90 half centuires

I am speachless... I mean just to have lived when he palyed and seen his prime... I think i am one of the lucky million and well if i can remember his innigs against Pakistan in the world cup or Australia in sharjah or even in australia u name it i still get gosse bumps....

an intresting read....

A Father was reading a magazine and his little daughter every now and then
distracted him. To keep her busy, he tore one page on which was printed
the map of the world. He tore it into pieces and asked her to go to her
room and put them together to make the map again. He was sure she would
take the whole day to get it done. But the little one came back within
minutes with perfect map.

When he asked how she could do it so quickly, she said ,'Oh.. Dad, there
is a man?s face on the other side of the paper. I made the face perfect to
get the map right."" she ran outside to play leaving the father surprised.

MORAL:

That is, whenever we come across a challenge or a puzzling situation, look
at the other side.. you will be surprised to see an easy way to tackle the same

It's Called Mind set

A friedn of mine sent me this and i thought it was intrestign enough to share it with you all....

"As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. "Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were. Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? So make an attempt to grow further...."

Practically the worst day of my life....

January 7th 2009 will go down in my history as one of the worst days of my life.....

Well to start of with my night was sleepless kept wondering what will happen in the future... will i be able do well at work will i be able to support Del.. will i get married to her in the first place or no.... and so on... well when i finally got some sleep i started geting wierd burps (who burps in their sleep).. well i got up drank water but that did not help as i threw up a large chunk of what i can only describe as "YUK".. anywyas after repeatign this procedure twice in the night i finally got my eyes shut barley enough to open them to shut the alarm....

Well as i reached out for the phone to switch it off i realise i could not move and there was this severe pain down my spine... my lower back was frozen i think...and the pain was........ WELL strong enough for me to go "OUCH" loudly.. i was afraid my land lady would wake up but that did not happen i thought i would stretch and xecise a bit but that only worsened it and i had to lie down again...by the time i tried moving again it was already 8:45 and i decided not to go to work... I called Issa and asked her to send my data files so i can work form home.... well the pain kept shootign up and down and all over but i had to work....

At around 4:30 pm i realisd i have not eaten anything since last night so.. I asked Sam to send me subway number so i could call in one of my fav sandwhiches... but that did not work out the number that sam ave had no human on the other side...well my tummy was cring out for something... so i decided i had to go grocery shopping anyways soon so I decided to go now... well my back was ok until now....

Well as soon as i steped out of my appartment i realised the lift was under maintainnence so brken back and all i walked down 4 floors.. it was nice (not!!) but anyways bought bread milk eggs jusice washing powder (well since i was already there and not going to go again for that hting alone)... So 2 bags full i walked back to my building knowing very well that i had to clib back...I started climbing step by step floor by floor.. then came te 3rd floor... and out of no where i slipped i slipped landing straight on my right side and guess what the wet feeling under my shirt was (no i do not pee upwards yuk how wierd is that) it were 3 nicely smashed eggs... (well smashed or scarbled picture it your way)... i sat there laughing at my fate and then tried to get up and then well i fell down again.. well i did not actually get up for starters as the pain was bad... 3 minutes later i reached to my feet with broken bags 3 well scrambled eggs under my shirt and somehow reached my door... and gues what "NO KEYS" well i had taken them with me but droped them when i felll so i went back to get them lying there in egg juice..... i got home changed and cooked the 2 egss that were reaminging and am back on my comp finishing a report...

oh by the way there is a wierd pain in my left ankle now... funny no how life goes... "OUCH" just tried stretching my leg..

CAN MY DAY GET ANY WORSE!!!!

THe burning heart

Two worlds collide - rival nations,
Its a primitive clash - venting years of frustrations,
Bravely we hope against all hope - there is so much at stake.
Seems our freedoms up against the ropes.
Does the crowd understand?
Is a east versus west, or man against man,
Can any nation stand - alone.

in the burning heart - just about to burst,
Theres a quest for answers, an unquenchable thirst,
In the darkest night - rising like a spire,
In the burning heart - the unmistakable fire.*

In the warriors code - theres no surrender,
Though his body says stop - his spirit cries - never!
Deep in our soul a quiet ember,
Knows its you against you, its the
Paradox that drives us on -
Its a battle of wills, in the heat of attack,
Its the passion that kills -
The victory is yours alone.

A Promise for 2009

I promise myself to be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind...

I promise myself To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet...

I promise myself To make all my friends feel like there is Something in them...

I promise myself To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true...

I promise myself To think only of the best, to work only for the best,And expect only the best...

I promise myself to be just as enthusiastic about the success of others As I am of my own....

I promise myself To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the Greater achievements of the future....

I promise myself To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give Every living person I meet a smile....

I promise myself To give so much time to the improvement of myself That I have no time to criticize others...

I promise myself To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, and too Strong for fear, and too happy to permit the Presence of trouble

BEST SLEEP ONE CAN GET is...

on your grany's lap.... or when u have stuffed urself with all the delicious food tht she woudl have prepared for you as if you were the king of her little world....or while she is reading your fav story to you while gently pattign your head as if u born just yesturday even thoug you tower abover her...or when u have jsut walked into her house and the smell of GRANY STUFF just warms you as if you were in your mothers'woumb..

Hey here is an intresting thought.. what if grany's were actual mothers of their grand children...???? hmmmm na it would not work whose arms would we run to if MUMMY GETS ANGRY...

in the arms of that special someone else.... man this was a close second to granny's.. but none the less jsut the warmth of her / his touch... the love that you might share... the security & the comfort of being with him / her gives a peace like atleast I have never felt before.... The peace of lying in his/her amrs knowing the only thoughts between you both are those of true love.. comfort.. and happiness with a tinj of "MASTI"..all ur worries have vanished into thin air...aah what i would do right now to sleep in her arms..

when the entire day has gone against you but in the end somehow you manged to pull thorugh... ah the peace and feeling of triumph just knocks you out cold...the sleep suddenly feels so welll deserved...

when on a holiday you have played your favorite sport throught out the day and tasted success and failure... triumph & humiliation... when ur sweat has mixed up with your blood into a gooey paste and even the thought of liftign another finger jsut knocks you out into a world of laughter and joy...

when you have spent the enitre day with your friends...and laughed your guts out...so much that the insides of your tummy hurt that ur bladder gives way and a little bit of pee comes out.. trust i have noticed i even smile in my sleep on such occasions

and the last one.. (can be one of my fav after grany's / loved one's lap)

when on the last day of the "working week" you order an amazing lunch at work and eat it as if you were hungry for days.. the 2 secs of sleep on your keyboard after that is worth the calories you jsut put on :)

hmmm... its funny how life works.. Definitely mysterious but funny...well I am only 25 years old but in my "sleeping experience" i have realised that the only time i have slept like a baby is when I have a host "GOOD" memories to cherish through the night... and it is with the strength of these memories that i have gotten up the next day with a new zeal.. a new vigour to smile once again... .so be it my grany's lap or my fiance's lap or my own pillow after hard but well fought day or a great outing with close friends i cherish each memory caus the world iss filled with a lot of dark & grey areas and at times they just do not leave you.. but at times it these simple memories that help you face those dark corners of life...

Wild Weekend!!!

This last weekend has been one of my bests here in Dubai...

Though it started of slow with the New Year being not the usual huha!!! but a quite sub at city center a nice baskin robins icecream & then an hour long wait i nthe taxi line with some hot starbuks coffee and thats that.... So happy new year and Hello 2009.. they say that the thing you start the new year with will reamin with you for the rest of the year.. so I am not too sure of how my luck with Taxi's this year is going to be... Anyways bye bye 2008 and Hello 2009

1st day of the year.. pretty usual woke up at around 15:00 hrs.. saw a few episodes of friends, took a long cold walk by the creek and then a nice 3 egg cheese omlete....

2nd day of the year (the best so far).... woke up to Sam's call and then a fun filled ride awaited.. We decided to go to WILD WADI a water park next to Jumairah Hotel... Yes it was a bit heavy on the pocket but hey what the hell how often do you get to be yourself with no rules no regulations..So there we were Sam, Deepak & myself in our shorts running around augling at the surroundings (rides included) like miners on a gold mine....We went for the raft ride first it was a combination of 7-8 slides all together ending in a nice lazy river.. But the best part was the tunnel of DOOM.. 2 minutes of spinning slides gushing waters & complete darkness... Just the adrelin rush we needed.. I think i might have lsot my voice with the screams...We were smilign like little babies..& went on this ride twice and the third time Nauty knocked some sense into me and said hey we haven ot eatedn the whole day :).. Anyway then comes the fall of death.. a water slied a minimum of 10 stories high.. while the ride lasted jsut 2-3 sec.. the 1 sec vertical drop was felt by thudding heart beat.. I have never had this much fun... Standing at the start and looking down well on another day I would have peed in my pants and you would have seen it too but not today... as i took the leap of fate i screamed to glory and before i could say YAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO i was done.. :).. Moving on we went for another raft ride this one had larger rafts so we all 3 could sit together not as thrilling as the earlier one but the company made it special.....
Now mysecond fav of the evening the wave pool we must have spent close to 3-4 hoursi nthis pool.. takign snaps above the water under it toppsy turvey throwing eachother in the air... just tkaingi nthe sights and sounds (well more of the sights to be honest) and having a blast... 8pm the park closed so we were asked to get otu of the water and dress up... a lathargic intent nonethless we followed orders... Eyes buring and clothes fragranted with clorine we sat i nthe cab and reflected o nthe 6-7 hours of tremendous fun.. CANT WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN

3rd Day of the new year... It started of slow... But ended on a gr8 note.. I was over At parvez's place and we FINALLY played counter strike over the LAN Joy, Parvez and myself.. screaming at each other and our comps and killing those bad guys...we played until 1.30 am...

All in all a good start to the new year and I can only pray it ends on as good a note as it started on..

HERE IS WISHING YOU ALL A VERY VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
